NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR ELECTRICITY TRADING LICENCE IN TERMS OF ELECTRICITY REGULATION ACT, 2006
In terms of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (Act No. 4 of 2006); Pioneer Power Trading (Pty) Ltd (PPT), a private company,hereby notifies all residents in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality (NMBM) that a licence application has been lodged with the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) to conduct Electricity Trading within the NMBM in line with Municipality’s wheeling provisions, municipal bylaws and Wheeling Framework and Use of System Agreement for Trading.
PPT, once granted the licence by NERSA, will export and intake electricity from contracted electricity generation facility (ies), and use the municipal distribution system for purposes of trading with electricity customers. Subject to the approval by NERSA, the trading facility(ies) will be established at 15 Mangold Street, Newton Park, Gqeberha where electricity will be sold to specific customers that have entered into a customer Power Purchase Agreement with PPT.
The licence application is available for inspection at Main Library, Market Square, Govan Mbeki Avenue, Central, Gqeberha. The application is also posted on the Applicant’s Website https://africanpioneergroup.co.za/energy as well as on NERSA website, www.nersa.org.za, under Consultation Papers.
All interested parties and/or any member of the public may lodge written objections with NERSA, within 30 days from the date of this publication. Such objections must be in a form of an affidavit and must be directed to NERSA through any of the addresses below:
